Mark Zona

Mark Zona is bass fishing. Mark’s love for the sport started when he was a kid and quickly grew into a full-blown obsession. Naturally, he found himself competing and excelling in the tournament world. Early in his career, he reached a crossroads. He could keep climbing the tournament ranks, where he had already earned a reputation as a killer, or he could pivot into the media side of the sport. Thankfully for all of us, including the folks he once competed against, he chose media.

Z’s deep understanding of bass fishing, paired with his passion and personality, hit the fishing world with the force of the ’85 Bears defense. His personality landed like Chris Berman, but his earned-on-the-water bass fishing knowledge won the respect of the pros and opened doors the sport had never seen before. Z pulled gritty details straight from the source, what the pros used and how they used it, and delivered them in a way that educated and entertained. He carried that same communication style into Zona’s Awesome Fishing Show.
